About Cargo of Dreams

History

In 2002 God laid a vision and specific scripture on a man’s heart. He saw people in communities across the USA coming together to create educational centers for underprivileged children living in impoverished areas’ specifically with the traditional black townships in South Africa.

The need to create safe havens for young children which offers a strong educational foundation during the formative years was great. Many children in some of the existing preschools were not ready for public school placement when age-appropriate and literally “fell off the map” when it comes to acquiring a higher education. Higher education which knowingly paves the path to higher quality of living and a productive and sustainable lifestyle. In addition, many of the preschools were operating in hazardous and deplorable conditions.

Equally important was the desire to engage people in the in the United States in an international outreach project which utilizes their gifts and talents in a unique yet tangible way — traditional models for international involvement focus primarily on flying out, giving money and prayer. Although these remain important it is limiting and don’t allow everyone the opportunity for involvement.

Thus with a heart compelled, a solid need evident, and a clear calling upon his life, Cargo of Dreams was born.

Since that time his journey had led to numerous encounters with individuals whose passion compelled them to join the journey — and the Cargo of Dreams team.

The use of cargo containers continues to open doors for both donor and recipient to be located around the world. Cargo of Dreams scope of operation now includes project donors in Europe and recipients across the globe with five primary facility applications for recipient needs/vision.
